For years, WordPress was our go-to choice for business websites. It is flexible, widely supported and capable of doing almost anything with the right setup.
But the way we build websites has changed.
At Digital Junkies, we have been moving suitable websites to Tectonic's AI-powered Vibe builder. Across the projects we have rebuilt, we are seeing quicker loading, better user experiences and more complete on-page SEO implementation.
For businesses that need enquiries, bookings and room to grow, we believe this is a better direction for the future.
Here is why — and where WordPress or Shopify still makes sense.
What is an AI Vibe website?
An AI Vibe builder helps us create and refine a website using instructions, design references and direct editing. AI speeds up the development work, while we guide the strategy, design, content and technical setup.
That means we can spend more time improving what matters to your customers: finding the right information, understanding your services and taking the next step.
The quality still comes from the people directing and checking the work. A good brief, experienced design judgement and proper testing remain essential.
1.Faster websites with less unnecessary baggage
Over time, a WordPress website can accumulate a heavy theme, overlapping plugins, large images and scripts that are no longer needed. Visitors still have to load that baggage. A carefully planned Vibe rebuild gives us an opportunity to simplify the site and optimise what actually needs to load.
of WordPress mobile sites passed Core Web Vitals, vs 74% Wix and 85% Duda (HTTP Archive 2025 Web Almanac)
These figures do not measure Tectonic or prove AI makes a site faster. They show WordPress is not automatically the strongest choice for real-world performance.
2.A stronger foundation for SEO
A website needs more than a nice homepage to perform in search. It needs useful service pages, clear headings, descriptive page titles, sensible internal links and content that search engines can access. AI-assisted development makes it easier for us to build these details into the project and refine them efficiently — a more complete website within the available budget, instead of leaving important SEO work for later.
WordPress can support excellent SEO too. The advantage of our Vibe approach is how efficiently we can deliver and maintain those foundations.
3.Schema helps search engines understand your business
Schema is structured information in your website's code. It helps describe things such as your organisation, location and the content on a page. Think of it as adding clear labels to information you already show your visitors. We use AI-assisted development to create relevant schema, check it against the actual business information and validate the implementation.
Google uses structured data to understand content and, where eligible, support richer search appearances. Accuracy matters more than adding lots of markup.
4.Better preparation for AI search
Customers are increasingly discovering businesses through AI-assisted search as well as traditional search results. Preparing for that means making your expertise easy to find and understand — clear service descriptions, useful answers, genuine project examples and accurate business information.
Google says the same core SEO principles apply to its AI search features. There is no special AI schema required to appear; useful content and accessible pages remain central.
The technology underneath matters too. Tectonic's AI Studio projects support server-side rendering, allowing the server to deliver readable page content without relying entirely on JavaScript to assemble it in the visitor's browser. That is a useful foundation for search visibility.
5.Easier improvements as your business grows
Your website should be able to evolve with your business. You might introduce a new service, test an offer, improve a booking journey or create a campaign landing page. Vibe development helps us make and review these changes quickly — conversational revisions, visual editing, code editing and version history.
For business owners, that means more opportunities to improve the website without every change becoming a major development project. A website's long-term value depends on how easily it can keep improving.
6.A website connected to your enquiries and bookings
A visitor filling in a form is only the beginning. With the appropriate Tectonic setup, we can connect enquiries to your CRM, booking calendar and follow-up workflows. This helps your business organise leads and respond consistently.
The connections need to be configured and tested; a form that looks finished is not necessarily connected. For a service business, combining the website with lead handling can be more valuable than a design refresh alone.
What are the trade-offs?
Vibe websites still need professional oversight. Generated content needs checking, forms need testing and technical settings need validation.
They also depend on the platform and connected services. Subscription and usage costs should be considered alongside the savings in development and maintenance.
Moving away from WordPress removes its particular theme and plugin maintenance requirements. It does not make a website maintenance-free or impossible to break.
And moving an established website requires care: valuable content, URLs and redirects need to be handled properly to protect the search visibility already earned.
When would we recommend WordPress or Shopify?
We choose the platform around what the business needs.
| Your main requirement | Our usual starting point |
|---|---|
| Service pages, enquiries, quotes and bookings | Tectonic Vibe |
| Campaign pages and regular marketing improvements | Tectonic Vibe |
| A large publishing operation with complex editorial requirements | WordPress |
| An online store with substantial inventory, shipping and fulfilment needs | Shopify |
| Highly customised ecommerce requiring deep control | WordPress with WooCommerce |
WordPress offers established content types and user permissions. Shopify provides dedicated inventory and fulfilment capabilities. WooCommerce offers extensive commerce customisation. These strengths can make them the better fit for particular businesses.[6]
Complexity matters more than page count. A smaller website with unusual business rules can need more specialised development than a much larger service website.
What we're seeing in our own rebuilds
Our experience moving suitable websites to Tectonic is driving this shift. We are seeing improvements in loading speed, usability and the completeness of the SEO setup.
We will share individual examples here so you can see the changes and measured results.

Why we believe Vibe is the better direction for many businesses
For a business that wants more enquiries and bookings, we believe an expertly built Vibe website offers a strong combination: efficient development, flexible design, thorough SEO implementation and connected lead management.
It also gives us more room to keep improving the site as customer expectations and search technology evolve.
That is why we are moving more suitable clients to Tectonic.
